Denis's career remained in IT
firstly with a couple of years at UNISYS improving product release
processes. He then moved to a role to turnaround a failing IT
function at a major company in the Hawker Siddley group - he was
successful and consultancy beckoned.
Denis joined Philips Electronics UK as
an internal consultant and was initially involved in a wide number
of "down sizing" projects as Philips moved from a centralised UK to
a global product group structure. Denis also lead a number of
performance improvement projects to, for instance, half the product
development time, design and implement a customer driven kanban
system, optimise a supply chain, restructure a functional
organisation into project driven self-managed teams, etc. Denis
became a Six Sigma Black Belt whilst working on these and other
projects at Philips.
Denis's management consultancy
experienced continued with a spell at Atos Origin where he lead
strategic review and process architecture projects for clients such
as Xerox and Johnson and Johnson. Denis then returned to a corporate
role to setup a global programme office for SGS spanning 5
continents and 154 countries.
In 2002 Denis decided to establish a
training and coaching business that would build on his years of
practical experience. The business would be focused on helping
clients make performance improvement happen rather than doing it for
or "to them". Thus, overtime, improving their capability to manage
change and improve performance.
