Process ...efficiently and effectively meeting stakeholder needs.

"Business processes are the production lines of the new economy. When they fail us, our products and services fail our customers, and our business fails its owners," (Roger Burlton). This has been true for time immemorial but the importance of processes to business has only really been recognised over the last decade - the publication of "Reengineering the Corporation" in 1993 put processes firmly on the management team's agenda.

A survey of process performance found from a number of organisations at the beginning of their Six Sigma journey:

Research has shown that the cost of poor quality is as high as 50% of revenue in service based businesses and activities!

Many service organisation and activities have found that their processes perform in a range of 50 to 90% yield.

Analysis of service processes often reveals that less than 10% of the elapsed time is devoted to value adding activities.

Manufacturing processes perform better but still the cost of poor quality is 10 to 20% of revenue.

Years of competition and globalisation of markets means that manufacturing performs better than many service based business but there is still no room for complacency as there are few business with more than a handful of processes operating at Six Sigma performance.

For many organisations, both manufacturing and service, the processes that they need to focus on are not purely internal. To ensure optimised performance they need to consider the process that start at their supplier's supplier and go right through to their customer's customer - the total integrated Supply Chain. We can help you make Supply Chain performance improvement happen from the strategic level, through operations to warehouse management.

We can help you make performance improvement happen with your processes. We can take a strategic approach for the organisation as a whole or a tactical approach to tackle specific projects. The process training we offer overlap with each other in terms of content - they have been divided into Lean Six Sigma, Business Process Management and Business Transformation to provide alternative approaches to process improvement and redesign. To understand the true costs of your processes, products/services and serving your Customers then you need a costing system that enables continuous improvement. Our Activity Based Costing and Management (ABC&M) provides you with the critical tools and skills that reinforce your performance improvement activities and focus your investments.

Our programmes are organised to help you make performance improvement happen in all four areas of performance improvement - strategic, change, process and people.
