Investors in
People TM is the national Standard which sets out a
level of good practice for training and development of people to
achieve business goals. The Standard provides a national framework
for improving business performance and competitiveness, through a
planned approach to setting and communicating business objectives
and developing people to meet these objectives. The result is - what
people can and are motivated to do matches what the organisation
needs them to do. Investors in People is cyclical and should
engender the culture of continuous improvement. The Investors in
People Standard is based on four key principles:
|
Commitment to
invest in people to achieve business goals
. |
|
Planning how
skills, individuals and teams are to be developed to achieve
these
goals
|
|
Taking action to
develop and use necessary skills in a well defined and
continuing programme directly tied to business
objectives
|
|
Evaluating
outcomes of training and development for individuals' progress
towards goals, the value achieved and future needs.

|
| How can we
help? |
Achieving the Investors in People
standard is not a purely HR project it will require the involvement
of all of your managers and staff. We can help you prepare for the
IIP assessment process by:
|
Providing half day
briefing sessions to help your management and staff:
|
understand the
standard
|
|
recognise the
strategic implications for the organisation
|
|
understand the
benefits that achieving IIP certification will bring to
the organisation, management and staff.
|
|
|
We can then help the
organisation to review its current practices against the
standard, identify gaps and recommend corrective
actions.
|
|
Facilitating the
organisation to plan for and implement change.
|
|
Helping the organisation
bring together a body of evidence for assessment against the
standard.

requirements, plans and challenges so that we can together develop
an approach that is appropriate to your organisation and increases
the probability of a successful assessment. |
| HR
Scorecard |
| Introduction |
|
Virtually without exception
organisations identify their staff as their most important asset.
Organisations recognise that human capital is the foundation of
their value creation — various studies have shown that up to 85
percent of an organisation’s value is based on intangible assets.
Yet the asset that is most important is often the least understood,
least prone to measurement, and, hence, least susceptible to
management. The HR Scorecard is built on the proven Balanced
Scorecard model, it develops the organisation’s HR Architecture—the
HR function, the HR system, and strategic employee behaviours—that
relentlessly emphasises and reinforces the implementation of the
organisation’s strategy. The HR Scorecard shows how to link HR’s
results to measures that managers and executives understand and
respect.
